A team brand, a merch shop and a tour hub, in three weeks
The Drop Bears are an Australian beach handball team that tours Europe's biggest beach championships, with players joining from Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
Handball is home turf for us: Manon represented Australia in the sport herself.
Industry: Sports team
Work: Branding, website design and development, e-commerce merch shop, social media
/ dropbearsbeachhandball.com, live
The starting point: a team scattered across the world.
The project brought players from around the world together to compete in the best beach handball championships in Europe. A team like that needs one home online: somewhere fans can follow the tour, sponsors can see the story, and supporters can buy the jersey.
Without it, everything a touring team runs on gets harder. Sponsors want to see something real before they put a logo on a jersey. Families across three continents want to know where the team plays next without digging through group chats. And a new team with no presence can't sell a single piece of merch to help fund the tour.
This one was also personal. Handball is home turf for Creative Baguette: Manon represented Australia in the sport, and she's on the Drop Bears roster as goalkeeper. Building the team's brand meant building something she'd wear on the sand.
It all had to be ready before the season started. Branding, website, shop and socials: three weeks, start to finish.
What the work covers
Branding for a
team with personality
Bold, sandy, unmistakably Australian
We developed the brand from scratch for a team that doesn't take itself too seriously but plays like it does: a drop bear on the crest and a look built for the sand.
A website that sells
the jersey
Merch shop + tour hub in one
The site is an e-commerce platform for team gear and the home of the tour: the roster, the tournament schedule and where the team plays next, so fans always know where to look. Playing tops in four colourways sell directly from the homepage, no marketplace in between.
Social media,
built and running
Visibility across continents
We built the team's social media presence alongside the site, keeping fans, families and sponsors across three continents in the loop during the European tour.
What shipped, in three weeks.
The live dropbearsbeachhandball.com does a lot for a team site: a merch shop selling playing gear in four colourways, a 2025 tour hub covering tournaments in France, the Netherlands and Germany, and a full roster with a profile page for every player.
The support side got proper structure too. Sponsors, donations and a "Become a Mate" membership each have their own pathway, plus a newsletter for tour updates and an Instagram feed pulled straight into the site. And because the team plays on beaches, merch and donation money helps fund ocean conservation, with a page explaining exactly that.
Brand, website, shop and socials, live before the first whistle of the season.
The result: one home for a team on three continents.
The Drop Bears toured Europe with a brand on their backs, a live site where supporters could buy the jersey, and socials keeping everyone in the loop from Australia to the Netherlands. All of it built by Creative Baguette in the three weeks before the season started.
Questions teams and clubs ask us
Can you really deliver a brand and website in three weeks?
When the scope is clear and decisions get made quickly, yes.
The Drop Bears project went from nothing to a live brand, website, merch shop and social presence in three weeks, because one team owned all of it and there was a season start to hit.
Can a small club or team sell merch through its website?
Yes.
The Drop Bears site sells playing gear directly through its own shop. No marketplace fees, and every order supports the team, with part of merch and donation money going to ocean conservation.
What should a sports team website actually include?
The things fans and sponsors keep asking about.
The roster with player profiles, the tournament schedule, ways to support the team through sponsorship or donations, and the story of what the team stands for.
