PAWS Pet Therapy Therapy dog charity, Bathurst NSW

New volunteers arrive by phone. The site is ready.

PAWS trains volunteers and their own dogs to visit hospitals, aged care and schools. Their old site was hard work on a phone, right where new volunteers find them. We rebuilt it, and we keep it current.

A volunteer charity grows one yes at a time.

PAWS has more people hoping for a visit than teams to send. Many new volunteers find them through a Facebook post, on their phone. If the website stumbles there, a dog that could be cheering up a hospital ward stays home.

The brief: turn that tap into a volunteer enquiry, make giving easy, and keep the site as current as the work.

Three calls that did the heavy lifting

PAWS volunteer quiz on a phone: 'Question 1 of 8. Is your dog between 18 months and 8 years old?' with Yes and No buttons

Eight questions, then you're in.

The volunteer quiz asks one question at a time, and the enquiry form opens straight after it, on the same page. A dog owner can go from a Facebook post to an enquiry without putting their phone down.

PAWS Stories page, 'What's happening at PAWS', with All, Story and In the media filters above photo cards of volunteer teams

A website that keeps up with them.

Training days, thank-yous and media mentions live on their own Stories page, tagged and easy to filter. Each month PAWS sends us the news and we add the new stories and new teams.

PAWS In Loving Memory page: 'Some leave paw prints on our hearts.' above a grid of names with small photos

Room to remember.

The tributes to dogs and people PAWS has lost were scattered across separate pages. Now they sit together on one gentle page. Choose a name, read their story.

“We love our new website and feel it truly reflects the heart of PAWS.”

Our charity, PAWS Pet Therapy, needed a fresh, inviting website within a limited budget, along with someone to keep it updated. Manon was fantastic to work with. From day one, she understood PAWS—our mission, our team and the work we do in the community.

She took all our requirements on board and added thoughtful touches that brought everything together beautifully. We love our new website and feel it truly reflects the heart of PAWS. We look forward to continuing to work with Manon to keep it current, welcoming and full of PAWS stories!

Questions this project usually raises

We like how we sound. Do you have to rewrite everything?

No.

Sharon liked the way PAWS already sounded, so we kept that voice. We tidied and shortened it, and wrote the new pages from PAWS's own documents.

Will our old links and pages break?

Not if they're mapped first.

Every page address on the old PAWS site points to its new home, tribute pages included, so links people saved or shared still work.

What happens after launch?

The site goes onto a care plan.

Creative Baguette hosts it, keeps it maintained and secure, and sorts simple change requests within two business days. For PAWS, that means new stories and new teams added each month.
