Websites for the bush: what we learned building for regional Australia

Good design does not live in the cities. We learned that properly through a handful of regional projects, all run the same way we run everything: over video calls, no in-person meetings required.

The partnership that led us here actually started with a Sydney client. Emma, who did the branding for Village Pilates, met Manon through a business owners' network, liked what she saw, and asked to collaborate on regional projects through Regional PR. That's how Creative Baguette ended up building for regional Australia: not a strategy, a relationship.

The Outback Long Ride, Sarah Wheeler

Sarah was fundraising for upper GI cancer research. We heard about her cause and offered to build the site pro bono: Manon had childhood cancer herself, and Sarah's story stayed with her. We built it in one week, a one-page hub with a single job, explain the cause and collect donations. It's live now at theoutbacklongride.com.au, and it's the project that taught us regional Australia's stories carry a different kind of weight. See the full story in our Outback Long Ride case study.

Hello Yellow / Canola Trail

In collaboration with Regional PR, this one is Craig's project: the golden canola fields of the Riverina, right in the heart of Wiradjuri Country, turned into a tourism campaign site at canolatrail.com.au. Craig's said it's "always a great pleasure working with Manon, she is fast and gets things done efficiently," which means more coming from someone four hours from the nearest big agency.

Impact Ag and Iris & Wool

Impact Ag, a national agricultural consultancy advising on strategic policy, food security and biosecurity, is proof the same trust extends beyond tourism and fundraising into serious ag-industry work. We've also managed the website for Iris & Wool, a fashion and apparel business based in Burra, South Australia, showing the same remote process works just as well outside NSW.

What's actually different about regional clients

Not the process. You talk, we build, video calls, first version usually within a week, the same as every Sydney client. What's different is the depth of the stories, and the pride and passion of the people of the outback. City clients rarely talk about their businesses the way regional ones do.

Regional Australia FAQs

Do you build websites for regional and rural businesses?

Yes. We've built for clients in the Riverina, regional South Australia and beyond, all run over video calls the same way we work with Sydney clients.

Do we need to meet in person?

No. Every regional project we've built ran entirely on video calls and email. Distance hasn't changed the process once.

Is building for regional Australia different to building for a city business?

The process is identical: you talk, we build, first version usually within a week. What's different is the depth of the stories regional clients tell about their own businesses.
